The second is a wood panel cut and finished to a very smooth surface ready for the paint brush.

A complete finished background is painted. After the paint has dried, the next layer is applied bringing the image to life. The painting evolves with every new layer of paint. It changes until it feels right.

Once the painting is completed and cured, a coat of special varnish is applied to protect and preserve the image.
